REPORT SUBMITTED TO THE MERCURY: 19-02-2015.
Sedgemoor Camera Club members have had a couple of very interesting meeting this month so far.
Light Painting was our first. Taking interesting pictures at night, just using a small torch, is one of the things achievable today using Digital cameras provided you know what you are doing. Dave, Graham and Sharon S were our main instructors, as well as everyone helping each other. As Richard Selway said “I was so thrilled at what I achieved at my very first attempt” when he captured Wembdon Church gates.
Such was the success of the evening that members are already asking to repeat the event before the evenings get lighter.
Our latest event was our critique evening under the leadership of Graham & Tom when members were invited to bring in their images and we were invited comment pass judgement on them. Having suggestions as to how your picture might be improved can sometimes hurt but because of the nature of our members who have been allowed to bond and become good friends over the last few months, quite the reverse, so much so that as well as being very informative it became a very light-hearted affair with lots of quips and laughter. Once again, members have asked for a repeat.
Merv made sure refreshments were available for the 43 members & one new guest that attended with tea/coffee and biscuits (No Garibaldi or chocolate fingers AGAIN this week) and Lynda made sure that no one got in without paying their subs.
Brian C and Ian made the whole event run smoothly manning the Laptop and projector. Only 18 Wednesday’s left till the end of the season.
