REPORT SUBMITTED TO THE MERCURY 26-02-2015
Bridgwater Mercury 25-02-15.
SEDGEMOOR CAMERA CLUB.
Once again our chairman Graham Shaw was there to ensure the evening ran like clockwork, reliably assisted once again by Merv, catering, Lynda, treasurer and Bri C our digital officer.
Our evening concentrated very much on what members had learnt at the club and pictures taken. A competition involving 19 Digital Images & 14 Prints were on view and members were invited to vote for their favourites. It was a revelation to see how far many members (Mr Broxholme!!!! ) had improved since they joined back in September. Mo from Burnham took first place in the prints and our home grown John Dolling beat off all competition in the digital. Many of the images were portraits and we are very fortunate to have Andy White, a member and a very accomplished portrait photographer, to give us an extremely interesting talk on that very subject. Andy intends to run small tutorials for interested members at his studio in the near future. A big thank you must go to our secretary Sharon Stevens who had the mammoth task of collating the scores of the 41 members and two new guests in attendance. Becoming a very popular feature is “Tim’s table” provided by Tim Grimes from “Tim’s Cameras” who each week gives people the opportunity to bring their cameras along to photograph different items.
Tim says” The aim of it is to give everyone the chance to take photos on a wide range of subjects that will test their ability, whilst enjoying what they have created themselves”.
