Newsletter #31 – ‘WHAT IS IT?’

COMPETITION NIGHT

‘WHAT IS IT?’

Furrowed brows and lots of head scratching.

Yes it was “What is it?” night. For those who had never experienced such event it was fun. For those who had attended one before it was even more fun, and twice as baffling.

Loads of imagination went into producing prints and images for projection. The event started with members looking at, discussing with anyone, the possible subjects shown in the prints. “What could those four points be?” “Is there such a thing as transparent, Swiss cheese?”
“I can see a springy thing around the outside”

I suppose the purpose of such an event is two fold, one to allow members to use their imagination and camera skills to produce these puzzling images, and two to show everyone new ideas to have a go and try to photograph.

There were more projected images, and some where so difficult, like the close up of Dave’s busted finger nail, that Tim had to hit the bottle!

The noise level rose with laughter and comments as the evening came to a point, or rather a ball point, with the tie break situation and a battle between father & son.

The winners were as follows:

WINNER OF THE ‘WHAT IS IT?’ IN DIGITAL ……. JOHN ROBERTS

WINNER OF THE ‘WHAT IS IT?’ IN PRINTS ……….. PAUL HUGHES

WINNER OF THE ‘MOST BAFFLING’ IN DIGITAL ………. BILL DEEM

WINNER OF THE ‘MOST BAFFLING’ IN PRINTS …… SHEILA DYER

Thanks to everyone for a great evening and to our scorers, Tom & Sharon.

Thanks also for the generous donations for the “Bridgwater Belles” and we will be sending a bouquet of flowers to Cherie, as mentioned in the meeting.
