Newsletter #49 – PRINTING, LIGHTROOM & ELEMENTS

DIGITAL PRINTING TECHNIQUES, LIGHTROOM & ELEMENTS

Last Wednesday Darren started off the evening by giving tips on how to improve photographic prints. It is frightening to think your monitor may not be showing your images correctly, or that your printer is doing its own thing and producing poor prints (well not the prints you were expecting).

It seems it is all down to using a spider!  (Don’t scream Ian!)

Duncan then showed us more tricks in Elements. (Yes my new version of Elements 14 is up and running, great for capturing all those wispy bits of hair or fur.) It was good to see the selection tools in action and the return of the marching ants.

Finally Darren returned to show us the wonders of Lightroom. He introduced us to the concept of a workflow. More of that later. The one thing I took home from that club session was we all started somewhere, whether it be printing, editing or just taking photographs and we fiddled to improve.

A special thanks to Peter Broxholme for taking pictures for the Newsletter.
