Newsletter #129 – THE 3RD ANNUAL AWARDS

The Awards Night is the Clubs’ way of acknowledging and respecting what some of you have done for the Club during the past year. We hoped to do this in a light-hearted way whilst retaining respect for the recipients.

We started the evening with ‘The Carol Wewerka Award’.  This award is dedicated to the memory of Carol; a much-missed member of our Club. The theme this year was ‘Landscapes and Travel Photography’, which was chosen by her husband; Ken Wewerka, to reflect Carols’ interests in photography.

There were thirty six entries for this competition with a wide arrange of styles and subjects. So, plenty to think about when you voted.

THE RESULT

Our first ever winner for the Carol Wewerka Award goes to:

Alison Donnellan

As the winner, she has the right to pick next years’ theme and she chose ‘Animals’ (includes insects and alike).
There will be events throughout next years’ programme relating to this theme.

I would like to thank everyone that entered – you did us proud.

Alisons’ winning entry is below.

As with previous Award Nights, we asked you to bring in light snacks, and we had an abundance of food and soft drinks on hand.  Also, many helped James with this mammoth catering task, so thanks to everyone.
